Genshiken is a manga series by Shimoku Kio about a college club for otaku (extremely obsessed fans of various media)
and the lifestyle its members pursue. ourGenshiken is a blog written by four otaku who want to share their passion and report on all the various visual media they love.
via Cartoonbrew, Cat Shit One, aka Apocalypse Meow in North America is a new cg anime from Studio Anima. I think this is one of the more interesting (& qaulity) japanese CG projects I`ve seen. It`s good to see Japan jumping their CG game but I still can`t help but feel it looks a little like a game FMV?
Comedian and ex Monty Python John Cleese investigates why the human brain finds it much easier to identify a person through a cartoon characature rather than a simple line drawing. Fascinating short video from BBC science show 'The Human Face'.
Coming straight from Fujisawa Tohru, mangaka of GTO, Kamen Teacher is about a public highschool with 80% delinquents and the two new teachers hired to solve the problems. This seinen is an tounge-in-cheek look at both the action & school life genre.
Seriously, the Japanese are in a league of their own.
It's one thing to make all these girls walk around in their panties, despite being in full military dress, but this situation is something else entirely.
So why am I sharing this? Well, I wonder what that says about me.
I couldn't find a subbed version of part 1... but watch anyway. The situation requires few words. If you really want to see the subbed versions of part 2 and 3, they're easy enough to find on youtube.
So, like. This show's actually pretty good, eh? If you ever decide to watch the subbed ones. And a less ridiculous episode.
Ever wonder what happened, but aren't really willing to put the time into watching or reading the whole series?
This website is called The Oracle, and if you visit this page at night, understand that you're sacrificing your remaining waking hours, and then making an additional withdrawal.
This website has images and information on all the characters, including a detailed summary of the events of every episode of the anime and every chapter of the manga. That's right, different summaries for both manga and anime! Someone should do this for One Piece. I nominate Terry.
I'm a bad blogger - I'll try to be more attentive in the future ^ ^
So here's some funny stuff! A lot of the episodes are riddled with Japanese wordplay though =P Meaning ... limited laughs from westerners I imagine. Well, they make a good comedy pair anyway....
As for the series itself, it's short, and has a surprisingly intense ending!
